Ignition Design Labs builds carrier-grade convergent Wi-Fi and 4G/5G access, together with the software that turns it into a service. Our work runs at national scale: a Tier-1 operator in East Asia with over 100 million subscribers operates one of the world's largest integrated Wi-Fi and cellular systems on our platform, with more than 400,000 access points across its Capital area network.
Headquartered in Silicon Valley, with an R&D facility in Taiwan. What follows is not a capability list — it is the patent portfolio, grouped the way we actually organise engineering.
| Solution line | Supporting patents | What they cover |
|---|---|---|
| SD-WiFi | 83 | Carrier Wi-Fi offload, hyper-cellular convergence, 5G integrated access |
| General platform | 46 | NaaS cloud management, operations tooling, AIOps — shared across product lines |
| SD-Access | 44 | Campus and enterprise SD networking, dynamic segmentation, zero trust |
| SD-Edge | 12 | vBNG and vCPE, sPSK/PPSK, multi-tenant isolation for MDU and residential |
| SD-Branch | 7 | ISG intelligent gateway, SD-WAN, zero-touch provisioning, Docker application market |
A single patent frequently supports more than one solution line, so these figures overlap and do not sum to the portfolio total.
The portfolio above is organised the way our engineering is organised, and every area has a product behind it: the DFS family runs in shipping access points, the cloud AC patents are CloudOS, the large-scale management work is NMP, the virtual gateway filings are SD-Edge, and the AIOps family is what AIOps is being built from now.
The weighting tells you where we are heading. Two-thirds of the wireless and platform patents are already granted — that is the mature part of the business. In edge computing and in AI operations, most filings are still in application, because that is where the work is happening this year.
